Before you begin the wireless setup, ensure the following:

  • The printer is unpacked and ready for the wireless setup.
  • The wireless router is turned on and connected to a stable internet connection.
  • The Canon PIXMA MX410 printer driver for Windows or Mac is downloaded.
  • The firewall feature is disabled temporarily on your computer.

Step 1: Connecting the printer to a wireless network

  • Turn on your Canon printer.
  • Now, press the Menu button on your printer’s control panel.
  • On the opened menu screen, select the Device Settings option.
  • Press OK.
  • Select LAN settings > Wireless LAN active and press OK.
  • Wait for the Wireless connection to initiate on your printer.
  • You can ensure that the wireless connection is initiated on your printer by checking its Wi-Fi light status. If the light turns blue, it means the Wi-Fi connection is initiated on your printer. So, wait until the Wi-Fi light turns blue.
  • Now, select Wireless LAN setup > WPS > Push Button method and press OK. 
  • Locate the button named WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) on your wireless router. 
  • Hold down the WPS button approximately for five seconds and release it.
  • Now, check if the Wi-Fi light on your printer’s control panel is flashing. If yes, it means the printer is trying to connect to the available network.
  • Once it is done, the Connected message will be displayed on the screen.

Step 2: Completing the Canon PIXMA MX410 wireless setup

For Windows

  • Initially, connect your Windows computer to the same network to which you have connected the printer.
  • Next, run the downloaded Canon printer driver file on your computer.
  • Select and install the desired software when prompted during the driver installation.
  • Install the printer software by following the on-screen instructions to complete the wireless setup.

For Mac 

  • Install the Canon PIXMA MX410 printer’s CUPS and scanner drivers on your Mac computer.
  • After installing the drivers, open the System Preferences screen.
  • Click Printers & Scanners or Print & Scan > Plus.
  • Now, the Add dialog box will open.
  • Select your printer in the opened dialog box.
  • From the Use drop-down menu, select your printer driver correctly.
  • Finally, click Add.
