  • Remove the old Canon MX490 ink cartridges. Take the new FINE cartridge, remove the protective tapes from the electrical contacts, and place them in their slots. Move it forward and upward until it locks in place. Repeat this step for the other cartridges.
  • Now, close the paper output cover and then close the front cover.
  • The Canon Pixma MX490 LCD shows the Printhead cleaning message.
  • Finally, tap OK when the prompt appears on the screen to comple the Canon Pixma MX490 ink replacement process.
